We are setting up an adventure travel agency in Singapore and would like to promote Sikkim as one of our destination and are looking at both trekking (Geochala, Sandakphu and Singalila trek in your beautiful Sikkim) and monastery sightseening trips. We see a huge opportunity for us to reach out to South east asia adventure enthusiasts, trekkers and mountaineering community as Sikkim is not offered by most of the tour agencies here. Sikkim Temi Tea, Known to be amongst the finest of teas has come on board to support the Mega event, Mr Sikkim 2018 Manhunt. A meeting of the organizers with the Managing Director of the Estate, Mrinalini Srivastava was held on August 17 to get the official confirmation. We are happy to announce our tie up with a brand which has envisaged a vision to provide Temi tea consumers with organic, healthy, high quality orthodox black and its variety in green, oolong & white tea from high elevation of Himalayas' said one of the organizers, Pragya Satpathy of THE ACCELERATOR. She informed, the new brand, Cordyceps tea will also be exclusively promoted. Mr Sikkim 2018 Manhunt is the first of its kind of event being held in Sikkim to talk Mental Health through fashion and glamour. The event is being jointly organized by GBT Entertainment in collaboration with THE ACCELERATOR and SIKKIM CHRONICLE. We were looking for a brand from Sikkim to tie up with the event which carries a purpose and intent. We are more than happy to collaborate with TEMI Sikkim TEA and also looking forward for a rewarding partnership' said a co-organizer, Nirmal Mangar of SIKKIM CHRONICLE. On the occasion of International Youth Day -12th August, the HGTI (Himalchuli Group of Tourism Industries) celebrated this grand occasion at the Waterfall Resort & Homestay at Rumtek, East Sikkim, under the special theme of this year prescribed by the UNO as “ SAFE SPACES FOR YOUTH”. The Chairman of IJAC (Investigative Journalisms Award Committee, Sikkim) Mr. S. K. Bardewa introduced the “Portable Oxygen safety scheme” for the Youth and general Public & patients in Sikkim and mainly for the incoming tourist visiting high altitude areas of Sikkim for touring. That there has been several cases when tourists have died in high altitude due to heart attack and breathing problems because of the unavailability of the timely first aid due to remote location or the readily un-availability of the portable Oxygen. At the function which was attended by Village Youths, Mr. Bardewa introduced – life saving portable Oxygen cylinders which are very indispensable for the Youthful Mountaineers and to all tourist visiting high altitude areas of Sikkim. Shri. SK Bardewa has eventually suggested the Govt. of Sikkim to make this “life-saving practice mandatory” for all high altitude tourist vehicles and even at the remote Primary Health Centre/s (PHC) in Sikkim so that tourist coming to travel to Lachung Yumgthang, Gurudongmar lake, Chopta valley is safe in Sikkim.

The Tourism Mission 2015 further promotes wellness tourism like meditation, spa, yoga and herbal therapies, tea tourism and conference tourism utilizing the easy availability of serene environment of the State. Investors are coming to Sikkim to set up high-end hotels offering wellness tourism. Pilgrimage tourism is coming up in a big way in Sikkim with ingenious projects conceptualized by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Projects like Siddhesvara Dham in Namchi, Guru Padmasambhava statue in Samdruptse and Buddha Park in Ravangla have captured the imagination of people of India and abroad. It is these tourism products and vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister that saw Sikkim listed as the best region to visit in 2014 by the Lonely Planet.

Parents were really happy with all the arrangements made by them. Pick up/drop were punctual and prompt. Hotels booked by them were really good. After parents returned back, they wanted a more detailed bill for submitting it to their office for reimbursement. I emailed Yak and Yeti about it and asked them to sent a detailed bill by post. They didn't reply. I thought, who will care for sending a bill , after the trip is over. I told my Dad, to forget it. BUT, the bill came by speed post after 2 weeks. This surprised me a lot. They proved that they do things not for just money. I recommend this travel agents to all people ( both young and old) for touring sikkim. The places covered were- Gangtok - lachen-lachung. (Yumthang valley, gurudmongar lake, rumtek) Thanks a lot, Yak and Yeti travels, Satish and Srijana for making my parents trip a wonderful one.
