The Ambassador of India to Italy called on Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling here today in Rome. The Ambassador congratulated the Hon’ble Chief Minister for organic conversion and making Sikkim 100 percent organic and also congratulated him for winning the Future Policy Gold Award jointly sponsored by the United Nation (FAO), World Future Council and IFOAM- Organic International. She said that it is a matter of pride for all of us.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister thanked the Ambassador and shared some of the environmental measures undertaken by the Sikkim Government since 1995. Ït is because of the hard work and sincere efforts of the Sikkim Government and the people of Sikkim that the organic mission has been achieved”, the Chief Minister shared. He enquired about the possible areas of interest with Italy where Sikkim Government can also mutually benefit. The Ambassador extended her invitation to the Chief Minister to visit Italy again for exploring future opportunities.

The Chief Minister is here to receive the Future Policy Gold Award in a ceremony to be held at the FAO Headquarter, Rome beginning at 6 pm local time.
